Bazhong receives over 240,000 visitors during New Year holiday

According to the Bazhong Municipal Cultural and Tourism Bureau, during the 2024 New Year holiday, A-level tourist attractions in the city received a total of 240,600 visitors, achieving ticket revenue of 2.82 million yuan ($394,493.48), representing year-on-year growth of 46.34% and 36.31%, respectively.

The national 5A-level tourist attraction Guangwu Mountain received a total of 11,200 visitors and achieved ticket revenue of 657,000 yuan, representing year-on-year growth of 35.33% and 36.31%, respectively.

Various cultural and tourism festival activities were also held, with the libraries, cultural centers, and art galleries in the city and counties organizing such activities as "Classic Reading by the Children of Ba Mountain" and "Poetry and Calligraphy Exhibition". Cultural venues in the city received nearly 8,000 visitors, and activities such as cultural outreach, concerts, and special performances attracted many tourists.

Various methods were used to promote consumption. Prior to the holiday, Bazhong launched a new round of consumer coupon distribution, with a total of over 8 million yuan worth of coupons distributed for catering, accommodation, and scenic spots, greatly stimulating cultural and tourism consumption. Guangwu Mountain, Micang Mountain, and Nuoshui River scenic areas jointly launched discounted ticket packages, and over 2,000 half-price tickets were released, further enhancing the role of holiday cultural and tourism consumption.

Red tourism witnesses increased popularity. During the holiday, all red tourism attractions and venues provided free public explanations to visitors. They also strengthened participation and interaction by singing Red Army songs, sharing red stories, and reciting red poetry, in order to deepen the red culture in the hearts of residents and tourists. During the holiday, red classic attractions received a total of 81,700 visitors.
