3rd sports tourism leisure consumption season (Bazhong) kicks off
The opening ceremony of the 2023 3rd sports tourism leisure consumption season and the half marathon "Run Across Sichuan" (Bazhong Station) was held at Guangwu Mountain in Bazhong, Sichuan province on Aug 12.

As one of the important activities of the sports tourism leisure consumption season, the event featured two main projects: the half marathon and the fun run. Runners started from the entry and exit points of the scenic area and unlocked famous attractions such as Feiyun Cliff Path, Lianghekou, and Longjia Mountain while running, greatly enhancing their motivation.
With the starting gun fired, over 5,000 runners enjoyed the joy of running in the green across the misty Guangwu Mountain, marking the beginning of the summer sports tourism carnival in Sichuan and Chongqing.
After intense competition, Agunafr Bekele Shiferaw from Ethiopia won the men's half marathon championship with a time of 1:06:42, followed by Zerihun Yayeh Endale from Ethiopia and Zhao Fuming from Chongqing in second and third place, respectively.

In the women's half marathon, the top three spots were taken by Leta Bikile Teferi from Ethiopia, Dong Tian from Guizhou province, and Wu Jie from Sichuan.
Cheng Jing, deputy director of the Sports Bureau of Sichuan Province, mentioned in her speech that with the establishment of the Chengdu-Chongqing Sports Industry Alliance, the sports cooperation between the two regions has become closer, and sports consumption is showing strong momentum. Yang Guishan, member of the Party Group and deputy director of the Sports Bureau of Chongqing City, also mentioned in his speech that the sports tourism leisure consumption season continues to activate the sports consumption market.
The event was jointly organized by the Sports Bureau of Sichuan Province, the Sports Bureau of Chongqing City, the People's Government of Bazhong City, and the Chengdu-Chongqing Sports Industry Alliance.
