Of the 369 delegates expected to attend, 333 delegates attended, meeting the quorum.

He Ping, secretary of the Bazhong Municipal Party Committee, presided over the meeting.

The meeting voted by secret ballot, and 29 people, including Lu Aiguo, were elected as representatives of Bazhong to attend the 14th Sichuan Provincial People's Congress. Zhang Dengxian was elected as deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Fifth Bazhong People's Congress. Wang Wei, He Haisheng, Luo Zhicong and Zheng Baoyang were also selected as members of the Standing Committee of the Fifth People's Congress of Bazhong City.

The meeting voted and passed several resolutions, including on the work report of Bazhong Municipal People's Government, Bazhong's 2023 economic and social development plan and 2023 fiscal budget.

The meeting held a constitutional oath ceremony; during which the newly elected deputy director and members of the Standing Committee of the Municipal People's Congress swore an oath in accordance with the law under the witness of representatives present at the meeting.
