Founded by Li Changlin, the cuisine has been prepared with the integrated cooking methods of Lu Cuisine (Shandong Cuisine), Xiang Cuisine (Hunan Cuisine) and Chuan Cuisine (Sichuan Cuisine). Some seasonings like natural spices, pickled chilies and rock sugar are normally added to further enhance the flavor of pork braised with low heat. It has become a popular Chinese dish for its special taste and texture featuring agreeable greasiness and light sweetness.
